PG Elektrus bring us an electric Lotus Elise

PG Elektrus already famous in Germany for producing carbon-fibre electric bicycles has turned it attentions to producing cars. In its first foray into the car market the German company Elektrus has chosen the Lotus Elise as a donor and thrown in some very aggressive styling.

At the moment the full details of the car is being kept under wraps, although the press release does give some details and the car body does utilise a lot of carbon fibre and composites in order to keep the overall weight of the roadster down. The heavy part of the car is in the form of the battery pack has been kept to under 2000 pounds and is claimed to give the car a range of 215 miles.

Elektrus have also stated that the car can be charged from a standard household plug in under 8 hours.

Now the important bits gone is the old milk float speeds of electric cars of the past and enter the sporty electric car. With its 270 BHP the car is expected to go from 0 to 60 in under 3 seconds and have an incredible top speed of 155 MPH.

Although this performance does not come cheap and the price tag is an estimated 270,000 euros so it will be rich greens that will buy one of these.
